We had a great Saturday playing warmly at Aurora College while the wind blew outside. We look forward to one more day playing. It is great to have a quantity of time to work on our paintings.

We didn't have many people join us in February but the class was really interesting.

UFO Weekend March 6, 7 and 8th

We have a few people registered for our painting weekend (since we have the space we might as well use it). If you want to join us for the weekend/or part of it, the cost is 20$.

Please email me and let me know if you want to come. I will then send you my cell number so that you can get into the space. I will be there for 6:30 on Friday night. We can work until we are ready to go, then I will be there for 10 on Saturday and Sunday (unless someone wants to go earlier and they can take the keys to open up).

February Meeting

We had some Show and Tell as well. Sarah likes blue...she is branching out into other colours too! Shawna finished another flower painting.



We had a great meeting learning how to enlarge images in preparation for painting. We were low in numbers but great in spirit. Hope to see more of you next month when we will be working with paint, labeling tubes so that we know what is staining, transparent, opaque and we will be mixing colours just to play!!!

How to Paint Shadows

On February 21 Janice Daly will be teaching us how to see shadows and how to paint shadows.

Come with Images with good shadows (something you might like to paint in the future) and Janice will answer any questions we may have.

Feb 21 from 9am to 1 pm, cost 40$ with registration at the next watercolour meeting.

Janice Daly's January Class

We spent 4 hours talking about art, drawing and starting to really explore shadows and light.

Janice will be teaching again in February and April. Dates to be announced. The next class we will be painting shadows and light.

January Meeting

We had a great meeting. Each person did a small painting. Lynn demonstrated how to load the brush fully, making a big puddle of paint. We had a great meeting. Welcome to new members: Sarah, Andrea, Cara, Lauren and Emerald.

Drawing Thursdays

Hi all
We are starting a series of drawing evenings this Thursday. So come out and join us.

Supplies to bring: paper, pencils or pens, small items to set up in a still life and a portable lamp to light your set-up. Some ideas: feathers, teddy bears, cups, tea cups, doily, and so on. I am planning to bring a few items, small boxes for elevating the set ups and fabric to cover the boxes over as well.
