Annual Watercolour Show

Just a reminder that our show is on Saturday, drop off time for set up is 6 pm on Friday evening in the auditorium.

We need 2 people to work the show in each of the 2 hour blocks.

10 - 12
12 - 2
2 - 4
Pick up and take down is at 4 pm on Saturday. Please don't be late.

If you can let me know if you can do a shift this Saturday that would be great.

Lynn, Sarah and myself are doing painting demonstrations.

I think that covers it. I will see you on Friday night.

Painting Saturday

On April 6th we met in room 215. The light was just perfect! The company was great! Can't ask for much more.

March Meeting

We had a great meeting. Only one Show and Tell. Shawna brought her cherries that she worked on during the UFO weekend.

Hopefully we will see you next month, 20th of April when we will be exploring colour mixing and the colour wheel. Worth taking time to come out to the meeting.

Bring the following items:

Watercolour paper (approx 5x7)

Paints: Raw Sienna, Permanent Rose (PV19 aka Pthalo Crimson, Pthaolo Red, Ruby Red, Red Rose Deep, Quinacridone Rose), Sap Green and Cobalt Blue

Hair Dryer

Remember to bring your Show and Tell!

Sunday UFO Weekend

We had a great time this weekend. Very productive for painting too.

We had a great Saturday playing warmly at Aurora College while the wind blew outside. We look forward to one more day playing. It is great to have a quantity of time to work on our paintings.

We didn't have many people join us in February but the class was really interesting.

UFO Weekend March 6, 7 and 8th

We have a few people registered for our painting weekend (since we have the space we might as well use it). If you want to join us for the weekend/or part of it, the cost is 20$.

Please email me and let me know if you want to come. I will then send you my cell number so that you can get into the space. I will be there for 6:30 on Friday night. We can work until we are ready to go, then I will be there for 10 on Saturday and Sunday (unless someone wants to go earlier and they can take the keys to open up).

February Meeting

We had some Show and Tell as well. Sarah likes blue...she is branching out into other colours too! Shawna finished another flower painting.



We had a great meeting learning how to enlarge images in preparation for painting. We were low in numbers but great in spirit. Hope to see more of you next month when we will be working with paint, labeling tubes so that we know what is staining, transparent, opaque and we will be mixing colours just to play!!!

How to Paint Shadows

On February 21 Janice Daly will be teaching us how to see shadows and how to paint shadows.

Come with Images with good shadows (something you might like to paint in the future) and Janice will answer any questions we may have.

Feb 21 from 9am to 1 pm, cost 40$ with registration at the next watercolour meeting.
