YWS Art Show May 2010

This May we held our third annual Art Show. It was a quieter show due to the amazing 25C weather outside. Yellowknifer's know what to do in that type of weather and none of it included being inside! ;-)

We had 8 members participate. Thanks to Lynn, Astrid, Rae, Kevin, Shawna, Sarah, Joyce, Joan for putting your work on display.

Thanks to Astrid for the wonderful poster, for Lynn, Rae, Kevin, Joyce and Shawna for working at the show. Thanks to Joyce and Sarah for sewing up our new black tablecloths.

Brittney Lintick Watercolour Course

We began on Friday afternoon. Brittney is beginning to do the demonstration!

She is cushioning the colours!
We are working on our "quilt" sample!

The results!!!!! ;-) Now this quilter was certainly impressed with using fabric as a subject!

Kevin begins to work on the full sized drawing!

Brittney showing us how to deal with one section at a time.

Though we thought a full sheet was a bit intimidating we all were comfortable enough to just get right to work. Thanks Brittney!

Ha. Here is a picture that isn't my work space without me!

Rae is really having fun and her years at art school make her our fastest painter! Another photo is down below.

Joyce working away.

Joan is wishing she had more time to complete this painting...
