First Annual Yellowknife Watercolour Show

Hi all

It has been a while since i have posted. Time gets away sometimes.

We had about 45 people come to see our show. That was pretty good for the first one. The show was AMAZING!!!! Thank you to all who came out and brought your pieces to display. The room looked totally fabulous. I stayed the whole day and it was a lot of fun.

Find below a few of the paintings that we had at the show:

February meeting

We had a small group of people on Monday but one member was very prolific in the paintings that she did last month. Great job Pat J! See below. Our next event is March 1st for Painting Saturday! Remember it is from 11 to 4. See you there.

February 18 7:30 pm

Our next meeting will be on Monday evening. Lynn will be demonstrating 2 point perspective and there will be a video to watch as well on drawing in perspective.

So bring some drawing items, pencil, ruler, drawing paper and eraser if you want.

Remember to bring your Show and Tell. Now that the sun is up longer and shining so bright (and that we have been house bound due to the brutally cold temps) I hope that people are creating!

See you on Monday evening at NUP Room 215 (that is a change)

Janice's Class

On January 26 we had a great 4 hour class with local artist Janice Daly. She brought a bevy of slides to take us through to teach us how to look at different elements that made the art work stand out. It was a great session. Watch for the next in the series of 4 hours classes in April! Janice will take us further in our journey of becoming more skilled artists.

I have noticed that our photos seem to be always when we are concentrating most. I am working on taking differnet types of photos!

January Meeting

Hi all
It has been a while since I have posted on the blog. My carpal tunnel came back with a vengence a few weeks ago. So I have been on rest my hands mode. I am nearly back to normal...whatever "normal" is.

Our January meeting was well attended for a change of venues. Photos below!
Lynn demonstrating to Pat T and Marcella
Pat J's monochromatic paintings, Susan's nighttime scene, Shawna's tomatoes
Pat A working on value exercise
Heather and Susan sharing stories! Loads of laughter coming from that part of the room.
