Shawna's Still Life Demonstration
Bring drawing supplies, still life items, and digital camera.
Ideas for still life set ups.
Keep it to one or two different items (but in multiples of 2 or 3) with simple shapes to start with:
cups (with tea or coffee),saucers, glasses, fruit, berries, veggies, silverware, flowers, battenburg lace, bowls, children toys, books, playing cards, foods - dessert or cookies or candies or eggs, stones, jewelry, pitcher, figurines, children games, baby shoes, coins, ect
There are a few options to think about for Monday.
Fabric options for under the set up. Use a solid fabric or a piece that is graphically simple. So stripes, simple larger shapes. Remember the size of your still life objects when choosing fabric. If the item is a pear then choose a fabric that has a medium sized pattern that would not be overwhelmed by the pear or so large that the pear gets lost on it.
What is the theme of the still life set up? How does the fabric and still life objects work together to represent your chosen theme?
If you have any questions, call me.

November Painting Saturday
Saturday was a perfect day to come to Painting Saturday. A group of 5 met and worked on their own pieces. As always a few hours really can bring a painting along.
